Hampden Court Facilities Improvement Trust
Donation protected
For years there has been a potential health hazard for all individuals who work at the Hampden County Courthouse building due to suspected environmental toxins within the structure. There is also a potential risk to the health of those who occupy the building for use, such as attorneys and the public.
As a result, a trust has been established to conduct reasonable testing, which the Trial Court has refused to conduct on its own, in an effort to determine whether it is safe for individuals to work within and make use of the Hampden County Courthouse building on a daily basis. Visible mold growth, airborne fiberglass, and water leaks have been documented. There are also concerns that asbestos and PCBs, known carcinogens, may be present throughout the building, including within the window caulking. The air quality is potentially hazardous.
The Courthouse has seen too many deaths, long-term illnesses, and documented patterns in diagnoses. It is time the employees, legal community, and public get answers to what is behind these health issues. Please donate what you can to cover the cost of the testing. All donations will go directly to the Hampden Court Facilities Improvement Trust in care of the Trustee, retired Judge John M. Greaney.
