Hammad Family’s Survival: Every Dollar Goes to Urgent Needs
Donation protected
As the campaign organizer, I’m Jennifer Allred, based in the U.S., and I am launching this new GoFundMe to support the Hammad family in Gaza, who are fighting every day to survive the ongoing genocide.
Moin’s previous fundraiser raised $53,746—but we want to be fully transparent: those funds are not sitting in a bank account. Every dollar has already been spent on urgent survival needs, including food, medicine, and shelter—not just for the Hammad family, but for other families in desperate need.
We created this new GoFundMe to reflect what is currently being raised directly for the Hammad family, so that new donors are not misled by a high total that doesn’t reflect reality.
The Hammad family is doing everything they can to survive the ongoing genocide in Gaza — and they urgently need our help. This fundraiser supports 5 people and helps to feed 9 additional relatives, all cared for by Moin, the son organizing this campaign.
But Moin’s compassion goes far beyond his own household.
During his previous fundraiser, Moin personally and courageously distributed $20,000 worth of aid by foot, traveling through dangerous, bombed-out areas of Gaza to deliver donations directly to many families in desperate need. He risked his life — not just for his own family, but for his community.
Today, he continues to support others while trying to keep his own family alive.
Their needs are overwhelming:
• The mother, Shifa, suffers from severe heart issues and needs urgent, expensive medication.
• Her daughter, Reem, is blind, has heart issues, and has developed liver damage from surviving on canned food — the only food they’ve had access to. She, too, requires costly prescriptions.
• The family includes babies who urgently need diapers, formula, basic hygiene items, and medical care.
• They have no income, no access to aid, and face prices that would be unimaginable anywhere else.
This is what daily survival in Gaza costs right now:
• Tomatoes: $180 per kilogram
• Sugar: $60 per kilogram
• Flour (25kg): Over $400
• Milk powder: $80 per kilogram
• Baby formula: Heavily inflated and scarce
• Diapers: $60
• Hygiene items: Extremely expensive
• Prescription medications: Urgently needed & extremely expensive.
• Evacuation: Up to $10,000 per person
I’m working closely with Moin to ensure funds are delivered safely and used directly for survival. Every donation you make goes to people in urgent, daily need.
Please don’t be discouraged by the amount already raised.
People sometimes assume the money is sitting unused — but the truth is, every dollar has already been spent as soon as it comes in. With the extreme cost of food, medical needs, and baby supplies, there is no savings — only daily survival.
The Hammads also hope to eventually evacuate to Egypt once the borders reopen, which will cost $10,000 per person. They are hoping to have enough funds raised to escape immediately to safety once the opportunity comes, and that can’t happen without our support.
Please help us share their story and support their survival. Every donation—no matter how small—makes an immediate difference.
Thank you for standing with the Hammad family in their hour of greatest need.
