HAMBLE LIFEBOAT'S 24HOUR CHALLENGE

On the 28th March 2026, the crew of Hamble Lifeboat will undertake their most challenging fundraising event yet, to raise funds for a new lifeboat.

Hamble Lifeboat has been saving lives in the Solent since 1968. In 2023 it was the 5th busiest lifeboat in the whole UK. As an independent lifeboat (not part of the RNLI) they rely on the generosity of the local community and businesses to keep them afloat.

One of the two lifeboats the 'Harry Childs' has now been retired from operations after 30-year's service, there is a real need to replace it so they can continue saving lives.

To help raise funds for a new lifeboat, the crew are undertaking the most challenging fundraiser yet, a 24-hour endurance walk along the coast of their operational area.

24 hours. 120+km. Non-stop.

The price tag on the new, specifically designed lifeboat is almost £500,000!

It costs the charity approximately £90,000 every year to stay on service.

Want to support the crew? The route of the walk will be published with rough timings so anyone can join the crew and walk with them for as long as they wish to boost morale and help keep them going. There will be gifts/merchandise available for those who donate for this challenge.
