Hamada Family Mission Trip

Donation protected
Growing up, my parents took us on mission trips almost every summer - usually overseas - and usually to encourage and train Christian missionaries who were serving in Muslim areas - primarily in Western Europe. We were fortunate to work alongside many great mission organizations and with many wonderful missionaries. Some independent, others with organizations like Operation Mobilization, YWAM, Open Doors, Frontiers, SIM, etc.... Those times truly affected our hearts for life. Afterwards, I chose to go to seminary at a school world renowned for its missions focus and impact - Columbia Biblical Seminary and Graduate School of Missions, now known as Columbia International University.

Since, I have continued to stay independently involved in missions in South America, Central Africa, and the Middle East. As a family, we also support missionaries and mission organizations all over the world, as well as several children through Compassion International.

Though I have desired to give my family similar experiences in giving our lives away in a cross-cultural environment, the Lord has not yet afforded us the opportunity outside of a brief trip to the jungles of Panama last spring....until now.

We live in a bubble. We don't understand the struggles that the rest of the world faces. We don't feel the pain of loss because of poverty or war, or large scale death and disease. We don't look into the eyes of a starving child or a truly hopeless family. We don't feel the abject poverty of an empty soul. We don't experience the simple amazing joy of those who have little else than one another.

This summer, Tara and I are taking our family of six to an area in the Middle East where we can serve the hopeless, hold the hands of the hurting, minister to the orphan, the widow, and the refugee as we partner with other indigenous ministries in the area.

Part of where we are going is not "safe". It is not "easy". But we are not called to safety and comfort, are we?

As Mr. Beaver said in the Chronicles of Narnia, “Safe? Don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

He's not safe. But he is good.

Over the years, we have found that when we cannot go and when we cannot serve, it is always a blessing to partner with those who can.

If you would like to partner with us in any way - in prayer, in financial support, in sending clothing and supplies to refugees in the Middle East, please let us know. For those who want to follow our journey and for those who want to support us in this, we will have a private FB page that we will give you access to. There we can share more intimate details of people groups, timing, and location.

Our trip will cost us approximately $18,000. If you would like to be our financial and/or prayer partner in bringing the love of Jesus to a hurting and struggling world of orphans, widows, and refugees, as well as others who are seeking the Messiah, and in expanding and softening the hearts and minds of our children as they learn to give their lives away for the sake of the Gospel, please do jump in with us!
