The Halton Hills Minor Baseball Association is a local youth sports organization, operating in the Town of Halton Hills (Acton, Georgetown, Limehouse and Glen Williams) providing recreational activities to our players through our House League and Travel Representational teams. Our league is volunteer driven, with close to 100 volunteers fulfilling a variety of roles from coaching, scheduling, Executive Members, and all other pertinent roles that are necessary to keep our league operational.
Halton Hills Minor Baseball is growing rapidly. We now have over 1000 youth playing baseball in our town... yet we have not built a new diamond suitable for youth baseball in decades. And we only have one hardball diamond with a permanent mound in the entire town! We have 13 teams that share this diamond during the week, which means they are not getting enough practice time to continue to develop in this great sport.
When Trafalgar Sports Park was designed, the intent was to build a 4 diamond "clover-leaf" of multi-use ball diamonds, however only 1 got built and that only happened as a result of a private-public partnership where the Georgetown Slo-Pitch league contributed about 20% of the funding. The other 3 diamonds were "shelved".
So we are starting the Halton Hills Field of Dreams campaign to get the other 3 diamonds built! We intend to raise enough money to kick-start the project and build 3 more diamonds, 2 multi-use and 1 permanent mounded diamond for hard-ball. Halton Hills Minor Baseball is partnering with Georgetown Slo-Pitch who were successful last time around in getting this done. We welcome all interested donors, private or corporate!
With 55,000 people in our town, if even 10% of them contributed $5 each we will exceed our goal. Please chip-in with whatever you can afford for this worthwhile project that will build a lasting legacy for the youth of Halton Hills.
