It's time to ask for some extra donation love... this week has been very trying for H.A.L.O’s emergency rescue cases and we need some financial relief.
Our primary worry is for Sky, a spaniel mix that is only 2 years old and suffering from Leptospirosis. She is in acute kidney failure, pancreatitis and anemia. She is currently hospitalized at Highlands Animal Hospital receiving 24-hour care with IV fluids, antibiotics, Lasix, routine blood panels and X-rays. Her care is extensive and we are praying for her recovery from a seriously life threatening virus.
We also are juggling the care of 12 puppies covered in ringworm and their mom suffering from a gun shot wound that entered below her eye, through her throat and into her shoulder. She is doing amazingly okay, but needs further evaluation to her breathing difficulties and throat damage.
In addition we have saved and taken on the special medical treatment for a four paw declawed Manx cat being euthanized by owners due to not being able to handle his litter habits, a puppy with ears and dewclaws cut off without a vet that suffers from blindness and neurological difficulties, a household of juvenile cats with one covered in candle wax, a senior Yorkie with chronic kidney failure, a Maltese with IBS, a 6 month old bunny who had a litter and is unsure how to care for them so round the clock feedings resulted, a Shihtzu puppy with hip dysplasia and frozen kneecaps, along with caring for 235 additional dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, bunnies, guinea pigs and a bird that all entered our doors since January 1st!
