Help Halo’s Miracle NICU Journey ✨

Hi, my name is Ashleigh — and on July 21, 2025, God blessed me with my rainbow and miracle baby, Halo. Born in Dallas at just 4 lbs and 8.3 oz, Halo arrived 8 weeks early after a pregnancy filled with complications, prayers, and unwavering faith.

This journey has been anything but easy. At 28, I suffered my first miscarriage due to fibroids, which led to my first fibroid removal surgery in 2013. Years later, a day after my 39th birthday, I was rushed to the ER with severe abdominal pain from a fibroid the size of a 6-month fetus. Emergency surgery removed about 19 fibroids, followed by a second surgery in August 2025.

My OB-GYN told me plainly: “You better start trying immediately if you want to have a chance — because fibroids will come back, and you’re not getting any younger.”

As a single woman, I wasn’t willing to have a baby with just anyone. Instead, I prayerfully asked some potential donors, and one of my dearest friends selflessly agreed, believing I’d make a wonderful mother.

God answered my prayer in just 3 months.

A High-Risk Pregnancy and an Early Arrival

My pregnancy was far from easy:

✅ 7 months of complications

✅ 2 hospital admissions

✅ Months on total bed rest

✅ Multiple bleeding episodes

At 32 weeks, after my third serious bleeding episode, my specialist decided to perform a vertical C-section to save Halo’s life — and a hysterectomy to save mine. Through it all, my peace came from knowing Christ as my Savior, trusting Him with whatever happened on that operating table.

Why I’m Asking for Help

Due to being born 8 weeks early, Halo must remain in the NICU to “finish baking” and learn to do all the things she didn’t get time to in the womb. She is truly a warrior princess and is doing well by God’s grace — but she may need to stay up to 6 more weeks.

I live in Fort Worth, over 40 minutes away, and my heart can’t bear to be so far from her after waiting so long for this miracle. Thankfully, the hospital offers long-stay guest rooms like a hotel at \$75 per night.

As a teacher, my maternity leave is unpaid, and these NICU expenses were completely unexpected. I’m humbly asking for help to cover the cost of staying near Halo, so I can breastfeed, comfort her, and spend every possible moment helping her grow stronger.
