Dear friends and family,
I have some very exciting news! I will officially be going to YWAM (Youth With A Mission) beginning this January (1/6/2020--7/3/2020)! Through lots and lots of research, prayer, and wisdom sought, I decided on a base in Greece; an island called Lesvos (/Lesbos) which is 45 minutes off of Turkey’s western coastline. I decided on Refuge discipleship training school/DTS for a couple of reasons. The first being that I was especially drawn to their focus on refugees and the Syrian crisis that is happening in the Middle East. Secondly, I felt like this base was the real deal, I truly want to be a part of something that is making a difference in people’s lives. I want to be challenged and I want to learn and I want to grow. My hope is that this will prepare me for a future of missions. This 6 month long school will begin in Lesvos where I will spend the first 3 months taking part in intense and focused lecture each week. These lectures will be taught by many different missionaries coming from all over the world who will be covering topics such as: The character of God, how to communicate with Muslims, evangelism/missions, the kingdom of God, and many other subjects. We will also take part in dignity building activities and refugee relief through building relationships and serving in any way that we feel led. Following the lecture phase we will be sent to another country in the middle east (specific country is undecided) on outreach for the remaining 3 months of our DTS. During our outreach we will be able to put to practice and apply everything that we had learned in the lecture phase by entering a community that has little to no exposure to the gospel. Whether that looks like distributing supplies to a large scale refugee camp, or sipping a cup of tea with a remote people group in the desert, or teaching English in a children’s school. I will be able to join a community that is putting love into action to see large scale transformation. I am so eager to be exposed to and learn about other cultures, and to gain global awareness, but I am mostly excited to live freely and completely in obedience to the Lord, because I know that this is where he wants me in this next season. YWAM’s goal is to prepare young people to reach current and future generations and answer the call to "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of Father and Son and the Holy Spirit." I am thrilled to be a part of such a beautiful work, and show people that they can find refuge in the middle of the storm by running to Jesus and accepting the gifts that come with loving and following and giving our lives completely to Him.

Though not everyone is called to move their lives to the other side of the planet, the Lord could be calling you to this mission in other ways. Your support reaches much further than you may believe. The most crucial support that I am in need of is prayer. Prayer that God would be at work through us in places of extreme hurt, prayer for strength in our team both physically and emotionally as we are exposed to such pain, and prayer for safety as we will be in a place of many forms of unrest. The cost of my training and outreach is around $5,100 (Not taking into account any additional costs such as air fare, living necessities, etc).
