Halley Bushe Parasitic Menengitis Relief Fund

Donation protected
Friends & Family,

I'm reaching out to share a challenging situation faced by my lifelong best friend, Halley Bushe. While on a trip to Hawaii, she contracted Parasitic Meningitis from a Rat Lungworm, leading to several weeks of hospitalization. This extremely rare and unexpected circumstance has put a strain on both her physical and financial well-being.

Halley is truly one of the most dedicated and hardworking individual I know. She has shown strength in the face of numerous challenges throughout her life and has continuously been a light in the face of darkness.

I am turning to my community for support to help ease the financial burden on Halley during this challenging time. Your contribution, regardless of size, will directly assist in covering medical expenses and treatment costs.

Let's come together and show Halley the love and support she deserves. She has always been there for others, and now it's our turn to stand by her side. Please consider making a donation and/or sharing this with your network to help raise awareness and support.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity during this challenging time. Together, we can make a difference in Halley's journey to recovery.

With love,
Zoe

A message from Halley-

I am so incredibly touched by the support and love I have received from family, friends, colleagues, old team mates, Rutgers University friends, WHS friends, to HAJH classmates. I had an unknown lapse in medical coverage from July 31 and of course I get an illness that only 10 other people have been diagnosed with in the mainland USA. My intubated ride from Wentworth Douglass ER to Mass General ICU is going to be one of the more glamorous things I do in this lifetime.

I am continuing to feel better every single day. I am on a PICC line administering IV medicine for a week and taking 20 pills per day. I have a legal battle coming up with the 2 ERs I was turned away from, allowed the meningitis to almost kill me. I had two spinal taps performed releasing the pressure from my brain to let me fight another day (and live without any life long complications). I am so incredibly fortunate and lucky as this is not the result for most people diagnosed with meningitis (a brain infection caused by a parasite in my case). Keep me in your thoughts and prayers I know it is working, thank you all for your continued support and love!
