Half-Marathon for Dorset Mind
Hi, we're a group of friends from Weymouth and we'll be running a half-marathon on Saturday 24th April 2021 to raise funds for Dorset Mind.
Every one of us is aware of the influence COVID-19 has had on the mental health of many individuals as a result of a numerous factors - something we don't see enough in the mainstream media. We understand that being stripped of social interaction, loss of jobs, a sense of normality and many other implications can really take its toll.
As a result, we pledge to get out of our comfort zone and raise as much as we possibly can for Dorset Mind, a local charity that fuels the steps to recovery for those in need. Many of us have never run the length of a half-marathon before, so this is a real challenge that can hopefully demonstrate determination and resilience - both of which can play a substantial part in mental health recovery.
Any donation, big or small, would be highly appreciated and it could go a long way - ourselves and Dorset Mind would be extremely thankful. We'd like to leave a couple of useful pieces of info below which may help you, or someone you know.
The Samaritans 24/7 Helpline - call them anytime on 116 123.

The Boys
