Louisa’s half-marathon for ARRC
Donation protected
Hi,
I will be running the Gateshead half marathon on May 11th to fundraise for Animal Relief for Rural Communities (ARRC).
ARRC is a South African-based charity that aims to provide veterinary care, food and shelter to animals in need, while also supporting and educating the communities they call home.
I joined ARRC’s monthly outreach in Selwane in September and saw the amazing impact the charity has on the local dogs (and donkeys!) in the community.
During my outreach we treated 111 dogs and 4 donkeys (vaccinating, removing ticks, treating wounds, doing examinations, giving the owners food for the underweight animals). We saw dogs with conditions such as mastitis alongside open wounds. Treatment is costly, however
these dogs were able to receive the treatment they deserved as a result of generous donations to ARRC.
I am so passionate about this charity, especially after working with them first hand and so I would love to raise as much money as possible to ensure that ARRC can continue to provide the care that the local animals deserve. No donation is too small.
