Half the Heart, Twice the Fight

On November 19th, the Reckner Family welcomed their second daughter, Miley Jane! Miley was born with a heart condition called HLHS, hypoplastic left heart syndrome. This condition essentially means that the left side of Miley’s heart did not develop completely. Because of this, Miley has already undergone an open-heart surgery and multiple cath lab procedures.

Miley will have at least two more open-heart procedures and possibly more cath lab procedures. She’s being cared for in Iowa City at this time. Because of this, her parents have been making the 3-hour drive to and from the hospital, along with caring for their 2-year-old, Briella, at home.

This has been a very stressful time for the family both emotionally and financially. If you would like to support the family in any way, their deepest gratitude is given to you. Please keep sending prayers for Miley and her family.
