Half Marathon Fundraiser for Johnny & Sarcoma UK
Hello everyone,
Jake, Kai, Harry, Ewan and Matt will be running the Maldon Half Marathon on September 24th. This is to raise money for a charity called Sarcoma UK. The reason we have picked this charity is because our good friend Johnny Hughes was unfortunately diagnosed with this disease.
We are raising money in aid of Sarcoma UK and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
More information about Sarcoma UK: Sarcoma UK is a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. It is the only cancer charity in the UK focusing on all types of sarcoma. Johnny has just successfully completed Chemotherapy and we want to help and congratulate his amazing effort throughout this horrible process. Johnny found out about this disease on November 5th 2022 and has only just started to recover from his 30 week chemotherapy plan.
The type of cancer Johnny had was Osteosarcoma. This was found in his right arm in the Humerus bone and also affected his soft tissue. It started in Johnnys humerus bone but spread to Johnnys shoulder and caused a Tumor. We can’t express enough of how proud of Johnny we are for staying strong and still being his happy and caring self.
This is really important to us and can’t wait to start helping fund a bit more money for this incredible charity!
