Last year, I lost my friend Sam to meningitis. He was only 19, full of life, and had so much ahead of him. Losing him so unexpectedly changed the way I see the world, and I knew I wanted to do something that honours who he was while helping others avoid the same heartbreak.
I'm running the Reading Half Marathon in Sam's memory to raise money for Meningitis Now, a charity dedicated to awareness, research, and supporting families affected by this devastating illness. Their work saves lives, and every donation-big or small-helps them reach more people, fund vital research, and make sure no one faces meningitis alone.
This run is for Sam. For his family. For everyone who has lost someone too soon. And for everyone who still can be protected.
Thank you for supporting this cause and helping keep Sam's memory alive.
