Hi, our names are Thea, Martha, Laura and Lulu We are between 16 and 17 years old and school kids.

On the 5th of August, we are running a half marathon (none of us are runners!) to raise money to help injured, sick, hungry and displaced Palestinians in Gaza.

According to the charity UN Crisis Relief over 3 million Palestinians are in need of humanitarian aid. According to UN OCHA, a minimum of 36,000 people have been killed and 81,000 injured since October 7th 2023.

After Israel’s orders for citizens to move to “safe zones” such as Rafah, they proceeded to bomb it 60 times in 48 hours, ignoring the International Court of Justices’ (ICJ) orders (according to Mondoweiss, a media/ news company). A senior World Health Organisation official also warned that Rafah’s last hospital was barely functioning.

We are absolutely horrified by the numbers of innocent people being killed and injured and want to help those who are so much less fortunate than us. People in Gaza are desperately in need of medical care and help and they have been stripped of the proper care they deserve, something we all take for granted. There are now only 12 hospitals in Gaza that are partially working out of the

36 that were fully functioning before the crisis.

About the Charity we will be fundraising for:

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) provides immediate medical aid to those in greatest need, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.

History will judge us. How will we answer the question: “what did you do to help?”. This is what motivated us to act, rather than sit by, feeling sad and doing nothing.
