Half Decade Shave for Aussie Bushfire Wildlife

I'm beaming off all the reciprocation and all the compassion. Thank you so much to everyone for coming together with me on this. If by any chance you are thinking of doing something similar I encourage you to go for it - help out the Black Summer Bushfire affected. Spread awareness. Love to you all.

Research:

Black Summer, July 2019 – March 2020. In the year 2019 in Australia faced it’s hottest and coincidingly it's driest year that we have on record which was then followed up by what is known as ‘Black Summer’. One of Australia’s most intense, if not the most, fire season to date.

• Over 3 billion (billion) animals lost their lives to the fires, mice found over 50 km away which had passed away with/from lung disease

• 34 human lives horrifically taken

• Fires claimed over 5,900 buildings of which over 2,900 were homes

• 18+ million hectares of total burnt area, worries of entire species of plants being wiped out

•  Flames as high as 70-meters (230ft), with the overall smoke reaching 11,000 kilometers all the way across the Pacific Ocean to Argentina & Chile

• Anticipated to exceed the recovery costs of Black Saturday in 2009 at $4.4 billion

I feel Black Summer has been overshadowed by other catastrophic events this year and has lost media coverage. At the time of it happening I had read about how a recovery of this size heavily relies on ongoing support for many years to come then it was suddenly out of my sights completely.
On a positive note nature is magically rejuvenating itself back to life,  there have also been animals starting to integrate back into to their natural habitat. We still have some way to go though, with 3 billion gone just try to fathom how many animals were left injured without homes. Their lives depend on our support, with this in mind, I have picked WIRES Wildlife Rescue as my charity, they do exactly as their name suggests are transparent about how they allocate their funds with absolute minimal admin fees. I've included a link to info on how they spend the money.

I’ve saved my gifted Christmas money to pay forward this year and to help raise some attention, if you’ll share this GoFundMe to your Facebook (tag Jake Mir) or Instagram (@jakemir), I will donate $25 in honor of you,  I can do this for at least 10 people *all funds have been exhausted but you can still share to spread awareness - thank you infinitively to everyone who is sharing and that already has!

I’m stoked to say someone funnily enough offered to buy my hair if I ever shaved it and so it has been locked in and all the proceeds will go to this as well.

Sending ALL my love to everyone affected everyone supporting.

Remember every dollar counts collectively, if you’re short of funds which is understandable a small donation still supports the entire contribution.
