Haley and Logan's Angels
Losing one parent is crippling for a child at any age, losing two is life changing. In four months, we lost both parents. I have had to take in my 18 year old autistic sister and my 16 year old brother because they've lost everything their whole worlds revolve around. My name is Stephanie, I'm 26 years old, I/'m their big sister and my family needs your help. I currently live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my fiance and his 2 beautiful girls. We are looking to raise enough money for a down payment on a house to rebuild our lives as a new blended family.
I have three siblings Haley(18) who is also autistic with a gluten allergy, Logan(16) and Olivia(6). And truth be told their story sounds like it comes right out of book in Lemony Snicket's Unfortunate Events. Haley and Logan had a hard working dad (we have separate fathers but he was a dad to me all the same) and a mother who centered her world around her children. Our mother was the brightest star in the room. She wanted nothing more than to see her children happy. And we were. Until she left us unexpectedly in November 2016, during Thanksgiving break, at the age of 46 in her home. A week later I packed everything they had at our mother's home to help them move to their father's house 20 miles away.
It was a few short months later, at the end of March, that their dad passed away suddenly at the age of 54 at their feet while spending time together on spring break at a local waterpark resort. Their father and our mother were both unable to work. Their dad had serve arthritis and cardiac problems, and our mother had a rare Chiari Malformation, that put her through 2 brain surgeries in 5 years. Both on disability and no life insurance, they left us with nothing but funeral costs and Haley and Logan without a home.
For the last few years I have been living in a 2 bedroom apartment with my wonderful, loving fiance, Mike, and his 2 beautiful girls, Ali and Julie, who were more than willing to open up our home and their hearts to Haley and Logan. They have taken in my siblings with open arms and are making them feel right at home. But we dont have the room. We need a house. Right before our mother passed Mike and I got engaged and have been planning our wedding set for September 30th of this year. We have put all of our money into our wedding and planned on using our gifts from the wedding for a home to begin our happily ever after. Due to unforseen, horrible circumstances we have to fast track our plan for a house- a bigger house than intended, and it leaves us asking for help.
These 2 kids deserve nothing but happiness and they've learned too early how cruel life can be. I made a promise to their dad back in January I would take care of them if any thing were to happen to him. I intend with every ounce of my being to keep that promise.
Having 5 little beautiful fur babies, and 6 people under the same small roof, we're forced to purchase a home with 3-4 bedrooms. With the help of our friends-angels, a miracle happened when we got approved for a home loan through some wonderful people. But we need a large down payment for what we need. Please help, any little bit can help. Simply by sharing to someone who can possibly help is very appreciated!!!! They have 2 of the best angels in heaven looking out for them we just need a few more here on Earth to help us out.
