FUNDRAISER DETAILS:
Hal Rosewall, bump 28 and a charter member of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity, was a brother, mentor, friend and leader not only to Cal Eta brothers, but to the community around him.  His contributions to the fraternity are too numerous to mention, but suffice it to say that without Hal, Phi Kappa Psi would have been a very different experience for the thousand or so brothers who had the pleasure of knowing him.  He was a dedicated and loyal friend to all of us and he is sorely missed. 

This fundraiser is for a memorial fountain that will be installed in the fraternity's front yard at 1335 Foothill Blvd in San Luis Obispo. Many of us remember the goldfish pond and waterfall at 1303 Garden St.  It will be a fitting honor for Hal to bring back the beautiful sight, sound and aesthetics that so many of us remember from fraternity rituals and gatherings at the Garden Street house.  

Funds raised will be applied to the cost of the fountain (between $2,000 and $3,000).  The balance will be applied to electrical, plumbing, lights, landscaping and a memorial plaque.  John Macy (1), Dennis Javens (57), Led Fortini (26), George Rosenberger (124) and Duane Inglish (176) form the committee that will oversee the fundraising and installation of the fountain.   

We have several designs under consideration and are in the process of making a final decision.  The fountain will most likely be two or three bubbling columns with spillover into an underground basin with a re-circulation pump covered by rock.  It will be high quality, robust and require minimal maintenance.  Here's a sample picture to give you an idea what the fountain will look like:
