Hal Devore Galesburg High School Educator

Greetings to all our fellow classmates. As many of you know, a beloved teacher from our days at GHS has passed, Hal Devore. Mr. Devores obituary: https://www.h-p-w.com/obituary/MrHal-Devore. We were lucky enough to have Mr. Devore and his wife attend our 50th Class Reunion dinner last Fall. Some of the reunion committee members discussed via email that we should consider doing something in remembrance for Hal Devore and his family. It was felt that something more permanent be offered to show the class of 1973s appreciation for his years of service and his indelible influence on many of us. We are currently exploring the possibility of having a tree planted in his honor along with a small plaque. Based on our ability to work successfully with the School District all donations will go toward a tree planting and plaque. In the event of funds received that go beyond the cost of such an endeavor – we will donate the additional funds to Habitat for Humanity as suggested in Hal Devores Obituary. Thank you….
