Hakuna Ma Tatas: Breast Cancer Walk

Hi Everyone!

It's almost October again, which means it is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This year, I will be raising money on behalf of my team Hakuna Ma Tatas for the organization Making Strides Against Cancer. Along with my best friends and closest family members, I will be participating in the Jersey City Walk on October 23rd.

This is a cause that is near and dear to my heart. For those who do not know, my mother, Theresa Capasso is a breast cancer survivor. I count my lucky stars everyday that I still have her here with me. It was not an easy journey physically or mentally. In the process to kill this terrible disease, she endured a double mastectomy and 15 other surgeries within 9 years. She maintained a clean house, had dinner on the table every night, never missed a beat when it came to my brother and I, and somehow never found anything to complain about along the way. Today, thanks to her amazing doctors and the power of prayer she is cancer free! I will be walking in honor of my mother.

The American Cancer Society has been saving lives for more than a century. Every day, 500 lives that would have otherwise been lost to cancer are saved. None of it would be possible without the generosity of donors like you. Your dollars help us to help people now who are fighting breast cancer in every community, while working to free the world from the pain and suffering of breast cancer tomorrow.

So this month, I ask my friends and family to help me reach my $2,500  goal and do what we can to crush breast cancer together. Any donation is greatly appreciated and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Making Strides Agains Cancer. The money we raise is getting put to use right away on the remarkable breast cancer programs and research projects in our local community and nationwide.
