Hello! Thank you so much for clicking on this to see if you could help me and my animals!! I’m a 23 year old college student who has a cat and a beagle.
My cat, Haku, was recently diagnosed with Stomatitis which is an extremely painful reaction to the plaque on his teeth. His gums are constantly inflamed and his mouth is even rejecting his teeth, so the best course of action is to slowly remove all of them. Haku’s first dental surgery paperwork is listed in the updates. I adopted Haku in September of 2019 after his owner passed away suddenly. He has a history of upper respiratory issues which is what the vet thinks led to the Stomatitis.
Secondly, I have a beagle named Doofer who needs his back teeth pulled due to them cutting into his gums and causing infection. His surgery would be the only one that he needs. (His paperwork is also in the update.) He has a history of lyme disease and arthritis that I have been treating for the past few months. I adopted Doofer in November of 2018 from an inbreeding and hoarding situation in which there were 70 beagles locked in one room for their entire lives.
Both of these surgeries would add up to about $1.5k and then Haku would have to be referred to a specialist to remove the rest of his teeth so he can be in no more pain. Going to a specialist can cost thousands of dollars and that is why I set the goal amount to $3k so he can get his second surgery as well.
I’ve used most of my savings for them for the past few months and now I’m reaching out for help for my babies. If Haku does not get this surgery he will have to be put down due to the amount of pain he will be in, but I’m trying everything I can before that.
