Hi, my name is Won Sook Hong, and I am trying to support Hajun's life changing surgery, Bone Marrow Transplant. BMT is scheduled on 7/28/22, but will be admitted and start preparations on 7/19. This fund raising is to cover any uncovered medical expenses by insurance and to help him for his future.

Here is Hajun's testimony:

At the age of five, I was diagnosed with a life-threatening blood disorder known as Aplastic Anemia, a condition where your body stops producing new blood cells. Due to this condition, I have had a long and exhausting journey. When I was diagnosed with this disease, the oncologist said that I would not be able to attend school because of my severe symptoms. I was unable to assess my own emotions. A mere five-year-old boy can not comprehend what a fatal disease is. I was bedridden in the hospital for weeks doing multiple procedures. My treatment plan consisted of different medications like anabolic steroids, bone marrow biopsies, blood transfusions, and countless lab work. Miraculously, through treatments, I was able to attend my first day of school, and I was able to grow and live a natural life as a student. Everything went well until I had a relapse in my junior year of high school. I was back to taking medications, transfusions, and regular check-ups for almost three years.

Recently, my dreams have come true; I have been approved to pursue a bone marrow transplant at Johns Hopkins Hospital. My only opportunity for a long-term cure for my Aplastic Anemia. When this procedure happens, it will provide a brighter future for me, and you will play a big part of it.

I belong to a family with a low income, and we need financial support to make this dream come true. Due to the pandemic and inflation, our income has significantly reduced, and we are still in the process of recovering financially. Also, the high medical expense is a huge burden due to our low income. Please pray for me and our family.
