Monica & Doug sponsoring Haitian Family's Legal Fund
Donation protected
Dear family and friends-
As many of you know, for the past several months we’ve been working to help Haitian families who legally entered the U.S. through the Biden parole program to get settled and begin a new life. Working with a coalition of local churches and synagogues called NBARC – https://www.nb-arc.com/ -- we’ve been able to provide a Haitian mother and her nine-old daughter with clothing, shelter, work, schooling, medical care and legal help to obtain permanent legal status.
Getting that status is doubly important, now that the Trump administration has made it a priority to end these immigrants’ legal protection and deport them.
We’re now working with a second Haitian mother and her 13-year-old daughter, who suffered tragedy and trauma and won’t survive if sent back to Haiti. Unfortunately, NBARC has run out of funds for their legal help, which is why we’re reaching out. The process is expensive – it will take about $14,000 in legal fees and government expenses to get a green card for the mother and asylum protection for the child.
We'd be so grateful if you'd consider donating to this fund to help our Haitian friends. We need to act quickly, as the Trump administration hasn't given up on trying to deport them.
Please feel free to contact Doug or Monica if you'd like any details.
Thanks, everyone,
Monica & Doug
