Haitian Mother in need of Freedom and Stability

Thank you first for taking the time out to share and read this story and I hope by the end of our vulnerability you find it in your heart to donate whatever amount you can and share some more.

I am fundraising for a woman who is the mother I've always needed. Her case is highly sensitive and for that reason, I cannot divulge much without her safety being compromised.

Since the late 00s she's been trying to gain residency as a Haitian immigrant. In total 18.5k from then and now has been spent on scam lawyers, unnecessary legal fees and documents, and missed work in order to get her papers. For the past 5 years, she had to live states away from us to get her papers approved as per the advisory of her last lawyer. She has not lived with her kids since 2017 and her adolescent daughter has been bounced around with no stable home.

Recently we found out some very heartbreaking news that puts my mother at a safety risk. Her accounts have been frozen and all paperwork has been denied.

We need the money for

1. Reuniting my mom with us in the same city

2. Housing and stability until she's able to legally work again

3. Legal fees. Lawyers we used before were almost always scams and with the level of sensitivity her case is now we were given an estimate of 15k almost

4. Money to take care of her daughter (my little sister)

I understand this story is vague but the anti-Black/anti-immigrant system makes it so that I have to make sure my loved ones are protected or else they will be harmed severely.

This fund is life or death. Without it, my mother will go back to her country where kidnapping and civilian murderers are at an all-time high. We want her to finally live here with us at peace and not be afraid or on the run.
