UPDATE 12/22/2023: "God is Good"
A family has been reunited and a new life has begun in the USA. Thank you to all who helped to make this possible. I will be exiting from this campaign at this time. Mission Accomplished! God bless!
UPDATE 12/20/2023: "A Christmas Miracle"
Last week USCIS approved Mackenson's family for acceptance into the United States under the Humanitarian Parole Sponsorship Program! The family currently awaits approval for travel authorization out of Haiti and into Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
The family is on the hook for the cost of airfare, which currently exceeds the funds we have remaining for travel. If anyone needs a last-minute 2023 tax write-off and has the means available to assist in this endeavor, it would be greatly appreciated!
This entire immigration process has taken just over a year, and everything was done legally and through the proper channels within the US State Department. Thank you ALL for your help. The future is looking bright for Mackenson and his family!
UPDATE: 04/28/2023
Mackenson has been in Austin, Texas for the last month searching for a job. He needs an employer to sponsor his work visa. Please contact me immediately if you are an employer in the Austin, TX or Atlantic City, NJ area and are willing to sponsor Mackenson for work. Immigration Parole Sponsorships are a slow-moving process, and we would like to get Kathlie and the girls into the US on a tourist visa in the meantime. At the moment, flights from Haiti to NJ are close to $1600 per ticket. At this time we will be directing our fundraised money toward covering the cost flights into the USA for Mackenson's family. Work in Austin would be preferable, as the family is more accustomed to the climate; However, NJ is an option because of access to good education for the girls and assistance from an established Haitian-American community. Thank you to all who have assisted Mackenson and continue to help his family, and thank you God for putting us all to use on such a worthy cause.
UPDATE: 01/21/2023
I am in the process of sponsoring this family on Immigration Parole into the USA. Education for the girls will be taken care of in NJ, as well as work for the family; However, Housing is the primary concern at this moment. Funds raised will be used to acquire temporary rental housing for the family until they get on their feet. I am looking to generate enough funds to provide them with a 6-month housing buffer as they begin the assimilation process.

Haitian Family of 4 fleeing to DomRep:
10/05/2022 “gofundme” Campaign
All Funds generated from this campaign with be transferred directly to the Father of the Family for the immediate purchase of airline tickets out of Haiti. The Funds will be used to cover the cost of temporary housing, food, and schooling for the girls once they arrive in the Dominican Republic. They expect to fully assimilate to life abroad and plan on starting anew; These funds are intended to be used as a jump start, with the purpose being to get the girls out of Haiti as soon as possible. The situation there is deteriorating daily, and they no longer feel safe in their home:
Port-au-Prince, Haiti 10/02/2022
“We no longer feel safe here. There is shooting every day and night. (Juvenile Name Withheld) has Anemia and we need better access to healthcare for her, as well as schooling for (JNW). I bought land here hoping to develop it for my family, but we have to abandon it. I still have my Faith, and I know God will bless us as immigrants.”
I have known this Family and another local Port-au-Prince Family for the past 6 years. We initially met through my cousin, who was a business mentor to the fathers of the two Port-au-Prince families. The Family seeking the Funds are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and have previously been awarded in the community for their humanitarian work. They are fleeing to the Dominican Republic because Haiti is no longer stable or safe. The Family name is being withheld at this time due to security concerns as they relocate; However, after safe arrival in the Dominican Republic, they will publicly thank all of you who helped. If you have the means, please consider sponsoring my friend and his family as they look to flee Haiti safely. Thank you.
