Haiti Emmanuel Orphanage
Donation protected
I am a 15 year old boy who recently visited the city of Jeremie, Haiti fora mission trip. This trip was a dental clinic to help with the teeth of the orphans and the people of the community. We ended up treating around 150 people. During this trip we all grew very close to the orphans and we learned that once the orphans turn 16 they are forced to move out of the orphanage. Then the problem of where they would go came up, 70% of all orphans who are not moved into a transition home end up dead or on the streets in 3 years. The church mount Carmel purchased land and has been raising money to build this transition home. In this home the kids learn skills that are necessary for survival. This transition home would not only help the children who must leave now, but it will be a home where all the orphans can go to when they come of age. I feel that it is my call to do everything I can to protect these children now and years to come.
