My name is Whitney Van Solkema. I am a registered dental hygienist in the Grand Rapids area. I am going on my first dental mission trip which is something I've always wanted to do. I feel that God has created the perfect opportunity for me to serve using my aquired dental hygiene skills to the undeserved orphan & school children of Haiti. Growing up in church and hearing about the life changing stories that occured during mission trips, laid down the foundation in my heart that I wanted to go one day. Now, in Haiti, I have the opportunity to change one smile at a time.
In Haiti, dental care is nonexistent for those that are poor. Those classified as poor comprise more than 80% of the population. God has given me a desire and heart to do what I can to help the Haitian people.
Unfortunately, travel, housing, food, materials and instruments come with me at a cost. I am asking you to partner with me to make this trip possible. I will be traveling February 14 - 21, 2017 and I need to raise $2,000.
This is a amazing opportunity for me to travel with other Dental professionals who will work together to provide Dental Care to those who are desperate to receive it .
