Take part in the #HairSalonAtHome Challenge!
After 5 weeks at home, many of us are in serious need of a trip to the hair dresser. With the salons and barbers still closed, let’s take matters into our own hands while also supporting a great cause! Welcome to our next challenge: #HairSalonAtHome !!
What is the cause?
Giridhar Allem, known to his colleagues and friends as Giri, moved to Luxembourg from India to attend the Sacred Heart University where he pursued his studies; in 2015 he joined Vodafone Procurement Company as an Intern in Networks, before becoming a Category Manager in IT & Enterprise in 2016. He was later joined by his wife Gayathri and his young son, before welcoming their baby daughter.
As many of you will recall, back in August 2018 Giri suffered a serious accident while at the gym resulting in long-term brain injury. Giri has gone through numerous medical interventions and although he continues to prove he is a fighter, he remains in a care home closer to home, in Frisange.
Vodafone Luxembourg and the Vodafone Foundation previously supported Giri’s family with the costs they were incurring following the accident through the Solidarity Without Borders campaign where a group of colleagues walked 120km in 4 days across 3 boarders. Aiming to improve Giri’s quality of life, we invite you to join this new challenge! With this fundraising we will acquire a special device for patients with mobility-limiting diseases to communicate and interact, thanks to an eye tracking technology (*).
Here’s how to participate!
· Change your ‘look’ by cutting, colouring or styling your hair. Be brave, be creative!
· Capture you or your family member’s hair transformation with videos and/or pictures. Post them on our Smart Working Luxembourg page with the hashtages #HairSalonAtHome and #LuxembourgSpirit
· Feel free to tag your colleagues in your post to challenge them to participate and come up with an even better transformation.
· Make a donation to help Giri on our fundraising page here.
· The more money we raise together, the more hair Ninian will shave off! He will post videos of himself cutting his hair shorter and shorter as we raise money. Will he end up completely bald?...
