Hair for Ellie

Hi my names Gem and I’m fundraising for my daughter Ellie.

as many of you may know , earlier this year Ellie nearly Lost her life to sepsis. She is home now but the harsh effects of sepsis on her body and the treatment she received are still effecting her life every day and unfortunately one of these long term effects has resulted in her loosing around 90 % of her hair with more falling out every day.

As you can imagine this has been devastating for Ellie and this has really knocked her confidence. You will all know how long , thick and beautiful Ellie’s hair has always been and will have seen all the amazing hairstyles she would create , it was literally her “crowning Glory”

another side effect of sepsis means Ellie has been in severe pain and had debilitating post sepsis fatigue and so her small business making medical accessories for other young people and children with similar conditions to Ellie has been shut for 5 months + .

shes a large part of the chronic illness community and is always helping others and maing a difference in other peoples lives so I would love to be able to raise the money to buy Ellie a realistic looking wig to ease the pain of loosing her hair and give my beautiful daughter her smile back and enable her to feel confident Being in family photos , as we have no photos with her since April and it feels like a part of our family is missing.

we have been given a rough estimate of at least £1000 for a wig that would be close to Ellies natural hair , but we have been warned the cost could be greater. I appreciate any donations so so much and I hope to make Ellie’s dream of having hair again come true.

Ellie would rather not share pictures of her at the moment but I have some pictures of her hairloss . She would loose this much each time she washed or brushed her hair so you can imagine how upsetting this was for her waking up every morning with hair all over her pillow and everywhere she went.
