My name is Tracy Milton, and I am an award-winning welder at Daikin Applied Americas in Minnesota.
When I was young, I lived at my friend's house, and their family became an extension of my own. I would call his mother 'mom' for as long as I could. Loving those around you can sometimes be a sobering experience.
When my buddy's mom got cancer, she lost all her weight and no longer had the strength to get out of bed. She couldn't breathe, couldn't move, couldn't cough, couldn't talk, couldn't hug her family back, and before long, she couldn't hold on anymore. She had no meat on her frame anymore. No muscle, no fat, no hair, and very little hope.
I can't save the world, but what I can do is grow my hair patiently, get a wig made, and give someone a moment of themselves back. I can't fix everything for them, but I can share my heart and care for someone in pain. I've learned that programs such as Wigs-for-Kids and Locks-of-Love may cost the recipient on the back end, and that's why this fundraiser is so expensive. The cost for the nicest wig, consultation, and entire process comes out to around $3,500 after all the bells and whistles, and I want to donate my best.
I'll be donating weekly, and I hope you can help too. Help me cut my hair, and make it count for someone in need.
