Ruby is 8 years old and has been growing her hair for a special cause. She wishes to donate her hair to help someone. As her mother, I have decided to be her side-kick and will be donating my hair for the second time. However, this time it will be extra special because we also want to raise money for a charity that is close to our hearts. In memory of our dog Fozzi, we have chosen to raise funds for Guide Dogs SA/NT.
As a little girl growing up, my only dream was to own a pet Labrador. My dream came true 12 years ago when I became a fur-mum. I then became a mum to two beautiful children Andy, 11 years old and Ruby and my heart was full and our family was complete…
Fozzi was our beautiful yellow Labrador. He was a special part of our family and he brought so much love and joy to us. He was intelligent but silly. He was always full of love and always ready to play. Sadly we lost him to bone cancer in November last year at the age of 12.
From the day he was diagnosed with cancer, everything went downhill so quickly. He was still with us but he wasn’t the same. It was hard to watch him deteriorate and our hearts broke each day with him. In a couple of weeks he stopped walking and we knew it was time to say goodbye. We know he held on for as long he could and we wish it could have been longer. We spent one last day as a family together by the beach. There were many tears from everyone.
We would like to thank the lovely lady who stopped and offered to take our last family photo. Your kindness will always be remembered. Thank you.
Fozzi gave us 12 good years, filled with many memories. We loved him very much but we know he always loved us so much more. His job here was done and he did a great job. We miss him dearly but we will be ok…
Ruby and I wanted to take this opportunity to not only donate our hair to a special cause but also raise funds that help go towards raising a beautiful service dog that can one day make a big difference to someone’s life. We hope the funds will help raise a service dog for someone in need and make their wish come true. We hope it will bring them unconditional love and happiness, just as Fozzi did for us.
It costs more than $50,000 to breed, raise and train a puppy to become a service dog. Funds raised will help Guide Dogs SA/NT continue to deliver life-changing services to enable independence for people living with low vision or blindness, children with autism, and their families.
No matter how big or small, we would love if you could help reach our target by generously donating too. We have set a target of $1200 for the 12 years Fozzi gave us.
In loving memory of our silly old ZZ, our Great White Beast who always loved us…
