Haines, Alaska Disaster Relief

Hello Everyone, and thank you for the overwhelming support. To help update everyone on this fundraiser: My name is Rebecca Kameika (Fojo) and I am a local Haines resident who, along with many others, has evacuated their home. Sara Chapell is now also part of the coordination and communication efforts with this GoFundMe.

Donations received through this GoFundMe fundraiser will be directed to Salvation Army for their Haines relief efforts.  We have been in communication with their local and statewide leadership, who have assured us 100% of your donations will be used for additive relief and response.  Your donations will be utilized for: Emergency Housing, Meals/Food, Clothing, Gift cards, Housing Placement, Cleaning kits, Equipment, On-going Social Services as needed.  We will continue to share updates with you, including other avenues for financial support.  Thank you for the care and generosity you have shown for Haines.  Your gifts mean so much more than dollars and cents.  They are acts of love.

Haines is in an emergency situation.  Record rainfall has caused landslides. People's homes are gone, people are getting evacuated by boat, people are missing. This town has already been hit very hard economically from COVID and everyone who is affected needs help.
