Hello party people’s, my name is Hailey and Here’s my story

At age 10 8/13/13 I was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). I was cancer free 9/19/13 but still had to go through 28 month of treatment. I did my last round of chemo 12-2-15 and rang the bell 1-6-16.

A month before age 20, I started noticing heaviness in my legs when walking. Almost like there were weights around my leg. I went to my primary doctors hospital to get checked out because something didn’t feel right, they ran some blood tests and did an X-ray of my right ankle and sent me on my way. This appointment was 6-13.

A month later in July the symptoms were slowly getting worse. Not only did I have the heaviness, I also was throwing my hip when walking, falling more frequent and didn’t have great balance. I ended up going to a chiropractor and he did an X-ray of my back and noticed that it was “twisted up like a wet rag” in the lower back and there was a lot of inflammation. He did adjustments 3 times a week every week that month but noticed my walking wasn’t improving. Towards the end of July I was noticing more tingling in my feet along with all of the other symptoms. He knew we needed to get other people on my team to get to the root of the problem.

This brings us to our current month which is August. At the beginning I went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee for vacation with my family while my chiropractor was getting appointments lined up for me. At that point I was using crutches and a wheel chair to help since walking and my balance were getting worse and the tingling had moved up to my shin as well as my feet. After we got back, I went for my consultation appointment and emg for my legs. I’m unsure what the doctor seen in my emg, but he wanted me to go that day and get admitted into the hospital so they could run tests “sooner rather than later”.

So 8-21 was my first admission into a hospital for this issue. They ended up using me as a pin cushion, not giving us to many answers on what was happening or what it could be because they were stumped. They did a spinal tap 8-23 and sent some testing out of state to get more answers to see if I needed transferred. The testing finally came back 8-25 and I was transferred to the children’s hospital that day.

Children’s repeated the spinal tap 8/28 as well as a bone marrow biopsy and a port implant and on 8/29 they came in and confirmed that I had relapsed and I have ALL in my spinal fluid.

Luckily it’s only in my spinal fluid and not anywhere else. They’ve started chemotherapy and I will have it once a week right now with a spinal tap. After a year I’ll start radiation and go through one cycle and then continue with chemo after. In total it’ll be about 2 years of treatment. This is my story, now let’s start this fight… again

the money will be used for medical bills, expenses for traveling, and anything else we may need when we stay/travel. If you would like to follow my journey it’s Hailey’s hunters on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61550874267500&mibextid=LQQJ4d
