Baby Wetmore's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
On October 1st, Justin and Kyra found out they were expecting their first child. Something that was supposed to be filled with joy and happiness also turned into one of the scariest times of their life. Anyone that knows the Wetmores knows that they are some of the most selfless and caring people. They would drop anything to help anyone in their life. With that being said, I am reaching out to all who are willing to help them while they navigate through this difficult time. Below is the story of Hailey and her condition which was posted by Kyra.

“At 20 weeks, I went in for an anatomy scan. We were told that our daughter had several abnormalities but that further imaging would be required in order to give us a diagnosis. After imaging at Yale and multiple possible diagnoses, we decided it was best to seek specialists at prominent children’s hospitals. After consultations at several institutions, we decided we were most comfortable at Boston Children’s.

As of right now, Hailey has a diagnosis of a possible bladder exstrophy or clocacal exstrophy. They will not be able to determine which until she is here. She also has bilateral clubbed feet, some kidney abnormalities, and possible issues with her spine. Hailey will likely require surgery in the first 24 hours of life to have a colostomy bag placed. A second surgery during her first week of life is also possible but won’t be determined until the doctors have been able to properly understand her anatomy.

Because of her need for immediate medical attention, we have decided it is best to deliver Hailey in Boston, where her team is, so that we will not have to transport her to Boston from Yale after delivery. We are scheduled for an induction on June 6th at 10:30am.”

Money collected from this GoFundMe will go directly to Hailey’s medical expenses, as well as helping the Wetmore family pay for housing in Boston so they can stay close to their little girl. Currently, they are predicting a 7 week stay.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read her story and support the Wetmores.
