Hey, my name is Hailee, I’m a 19 year old transgender woman. I’m hoping to be given a date for my Gender Reassignment Surgery very soon and I haven’t fully reached my goal just yet. I can’t even explain how much of a difference this surgery will make in my life now and going forward. The surgery will do so much for my mental health, as a transgender woman, it would take a huge weight off the gender dysphoria that I struggle with daily from the first moment I wake up.

Unfortunately for myself and many others, Ireland doesn’t offer this sort of procedure and as such I’m forced to go private and travel abroad to England to see a specialist. This will naturally mean things will be much more expensive for myself and my family as we have to account for travel costs and accommodation etc. on top of the surgery itself.

My initial consultation is on March 4th of this year, and hopefully from here we’ll be given the date for surgery itself.

I’m honestly super hesitant to ask but a few friends have recommended setting up one of these and asking for help, and honestly it can’t hurt to try. Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this
