Hailee Bike Accident Fundraiser

Hello all friends and family, 


Our dear friend Hailee Schmidt was involved in a mountain bike accident last Wednesday, April 15th. Hailee was riding her bike when she crashed and was knocked unconscious. Luckily, Hailee was wearing a helmet as well as other protective gear, but she still received severe injuries. Hailee was transported by ambulance to Mad River Hospital, and later that night was flown to UC Davis Medical Center where she is currently undergoing treatment. We are still learning the extent of her injuries and if she will require further surgery, but we know that the crash has impacted her airway, spine, and broke her jaw and nose. Though we still do not know the full extent of her injuries, we do know that she is currently stable and we are grateful for the medical staff that she has working with her.
For those of you who don’t know Hailee, Hailee is currently a student at Humboldt State University working towards her teaching credential. This is her final semester and she plans to pursue her Master’s Degree in the Fall. Hailee is incredibly caring, sweet, and constantly inspiring those around her. We love her outspoken personality and can-do attitude. She is a strong woman and would never ask for help on her own.

We will keep you all updated as much as possible as we learn more. We are sending love and healing thoughts to Hailee every day and hope for a healthy recovery.
