Haiishen McIntyre Scholarship Fund

Haiishen “Sheen” McIntyre will forever be etched in Harrisburg's history and heart as a true legend. More than just a basketball star, he blazed trails both on and off the court, setting the standard for excellence. His journey continued at High Point University, where he not only excelled in athletics but also emerged as a leader within the program, ultimately earning his degree.

Tragically, Sheen's life was taken in 2021, a victim of senseless violence following a basketball game in North Carolina. Every year, Day Service and community partners stand shoulder to shoulder with the McIntyre family, honoring our beloved teammate and friend in the most fitting manner possible: a basketball tournament and community day.

But we're not just about fun and games. Sheen was always a student first! We know firsthand the power of education, having all graduated from the Harrisburg school district ourselves-- college opened our worlds. That's why we've established the Haiishen McIntyre Scholarship to honor our friend and former classmate, Day Service launched a scholarship to celebrate Haiishen's life and passion for sports. At the end of every Sheen Mack Pro-Am +Community Day, we announce the recipient. This scholarship is exclusively for student-athletes within the Harrisburg School District attending a 4-year university in Fall 2024.

We've previously raised a total of $4,430! Moving forward, our ambitious goal is to raise $10,000 for the scholarship fund through direct donations, sponsorship partnerships, and an auction.
