Haggerty family and pancreatic cancer research

Beloved daughter, beloved wife, beloved mother, and beloved friend. Caryn Kirkegaard Haggerty was born on October 24, 1958 to Harold and Audrey Kirkegaard in Phoenix, AZ. A native to Arizona, she attended St. Theresa Catholic Grade School and Gerard Catholic High School. Her career was spent working at the Arizona Bank, First Interstate Bank, and Wells Fargo. She was a die-hard Arizona State Sun Devil fan and was a football season ticket holder for 38 years. Caryn’s most proud accomplishments are her children, Jenna (30) and Matthew (28). She was an avid cheerleader at all of their life accomplishments through little league wins, state track meets, state championships, graduation from colleges, many many baseball games, and seeing them step forward into their passionate careers. A wife to James Haggerty (64) for 33 wonderful years. The two of them have been able to raise a wonderful household, have been able to travel to different parts of the country, and attended many many sporting events. As a devoted mother to her children, she was also a second mom to many of their friends. Caryn was a strong, compassionate, fierce loving friend. She was the “connector” for many. She will be deeply missed by all of those whose lives she touched, but know that she is now the ultimate “Dancing Queen” up in Heaven. Caryn fiercely battled pancreatic cancer for 2 years and underwent two major surgeries. Caryn passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on October 9, 2022. Caryn is survived by her husband (Jim), daughter (Jenna), son (Matthew), mother (Audrey), brothers (Jamie, Rick, and Tom), 9 nieces and nephews, and 4 great-nieces and nephews. Caryn has been re-united with her father (Harold) and brother (Hal).
