On July 27th, 2020 life took an unexpected turn.  As many of you may know, my mom was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and Critical Limb Ischemia an advanced form of Peripheral Vascular Disease. In a matter of weeks, the disease progressed quickly and resulted in the amputation of her lower left leg. My mom also battles with the life long illness of Lupus.

Due to the severity of her disability, I will act as her primary caretaker. On September 1st, I will move to a new place that is more accessible to meet her needs as she recovers. Due to COVID-19, my mom lost her job and will no longer be able to return to teaching due to her disability. As her daughter, I will provide financial responsibility.  There are major and immediate expenses along the way such as moving, purchasing equipment for mobility purposes, and medications.
