Haflinger Saddle Fund

Help us get a saddle for the Haflinger boys so that they will be able to continue touching the lives of so many!

Goal 1: Saddle for Tater = $2,200

Goal 2: Saddle for Sweet Tea = $2,100

Any gift over $2,200, our staff will match from our personal funds!!

Tater spent last summer taking hundreds of riders out for adventures. He’s a fan favorite and one of the Crown Jewels of our barn.

Tater had some white hairs on his shoulders after last season showing some pressure point bruising from the saddle (luckily already shedding out with spring shed, meaning no permanent damage!). To protect him next season he desperately needs custom saddle.

Not all horses are shaped the same as the out of the box saddles and need some custom fittings, and Tater and Sweet Tea are some of them! These Haflingers in particular work SO HARD but just are not standard fits for saddles.

We are trying to get ahead of the curve and get one for Sweet Tea as well, knowing his fit will be even more challenging, even though he is young and still not showing such a dire need.

If you have ridden with us, you know we do our best to offer our horses the best working conditions possible, but sometimes to get optimal tack and supplies it’s just a huge jump in the budget beyond what we can afford.

While it’s a bit out of our budget to get custom saddles for all of the horses on our string, we could no longer sit back and do nothing so we committed to buying something that will make it much easier to do their jobs.

We had a fabulous Day with Staci Saulter of Allegany Mountain Saddlery fitting Tater and Sweet Tea for new saddles. Tater’s saddle should be built and ready for pick up in 13 weeks or so.
