On the 3rd of February 2024, my life was irrevocably altered when I lost my son Kieran, who was only 28 years old. He tragically passed away as a result of a road traffic accident while on his way to work. The devastation I felt was profound; it was as if a part of me had died. I found it impossible to focus, eat, or sleep, and I felt utterly adrift. In my time of need, I reached out to the firefighters' charity, where I received personalized wellbeing support. I understand the significance of this service and the expenses involved in maintaining it. Therefore, I am motivated to give back and assist others, which is why I have decided to undertake this journey for charity, aiming to raise as much money as possible.
Kieran had a passion for the outdoors; he loved camping and hiking. We had discussed embarking on an adventure together before his untimely passing, specifically about traversing Hadrian's Wall and camping along the way. Unfortunately, that dream was cut short by the accident. I made a promise to myself to still pursue this adventure, but I will not be doing it alone. I plan to commence this journey on the 21st of June, starting from South Shields and concluding at Bowness on Solway. This trek will cover approximately 140Km , and I aim to finish it by the 25th of June, which would have been Kieran's birthday.
Want to join me in making a difference? I’m raising money to benefit The Fire Fighters Charity, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
