In August last year LCpl Robert McAuley sadly lost his battle with mental health. He was a soldier within the 1st Battalion the Royal Irish Regiment, serving two tours of Afghanistan. He was a well loved member of the Battalion and within B Company. As a soldier he was the ultimate professional. As a person he had an infectious sense of humour and was the life and soul of any room. LCpl McAuley is sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure of serving with him. To the world he was an extremely confident individual and always a joker. This has made it even harder to comprehend and has emphasised our desire to spread awareness that anyone can be struggling regardless of exterior persona. If one person sees this and decides to reach out and get help then it will be worth it.

Ben and Tom, who both served with LCpl McAuley have decided to run/walk/crawl the 85 mile length of Hadrians wall in one go on the 18th of February 2022. The goal is to raise money for ‘Mind’ Charity and to raise awareness of mental health and the aftermath left behind. Any donations, no matter how small will be greatly appreciated. If anyone wants to follow along live on the day and see them in utter clip please follow @ranger_media_ on Instagram and YouTube.
