On the 19th of April, I will be running the Manchester Marathon to raise money for Help for Heroes and Andy’s Man Club.
Help for Heroes supports veterans and their families, and Andy’s Man Club focuses on men’s mental health. After spending nearly 7 years serving in the British Army & having a few low points after getting out these two charities are something that I would absolutely love to support. Everyone’s mental health is such a big talking point nowadays (so it should be) but I speak for myself & people I know it’s so important to just talk sometimes no matter how hard it is.
A bit about me:
In June 2025, I realised I needed to make serious changes and prioritise my health. I was at my lowest point both physically and mentally. I couldn’t even run for a few minutes without needing to stop, so the idea of running a marathon felt impossible.
Over the past 8 months, I’ve committed myself fully to turning things around. It hasn’t been easy at all, but I’m now 3 stone down, stronger, and continuing to push forward as April approaches. I still have a really long way to go, and some days the motivation is tough, but I keep reminding myself why I started.
This marathon is about more than just running. It’s about proving that change is possible, supporting causes that genuinely help others, and giving back to charities that mean so much to me personally.
Any donation, no matter how small, would be hugely appreciated and will help support the incredible work these charities do. Thank you for taking the time to read and for any support you can give will be hugely appreciated.
