Haden Lisle

Haden is a second-grader at Monroe Elementary and an active member of the Wee Hornet Cheerleading Squad. She has recently suffered from some devastating medical complications, and I would love to show Haden how much the Monroe Community loves her by rallying around her family when they are experiencing financial difficulties.

On Sunday, Haden tested positive for strep and was diagnosed with what they thought was pink eye. After Haden's mom noticed that the pink eye seemed to look significantly worse the following day, she took her to Cincinnati Children's Emergency Department. After being admitted, a CT scan found a lesion in the frontal sinus, which they determined to be a Pott's puffy tumor. It was discovered that Haden had an infection in her frontal bone behind the eye. On Wednesday, she underwent a 4-hour-long procedure to drill holes to place a drain through her eye, allowing the tumor to drain. The surgery also allowed the ENT to open up 3 of her 4 sinus cavities to facilitate proper drainage. On Thursday morning, Haden had a follow-up CT scan and received lab results that revealed a couple of abscesses on the left frontal lobe, indicating cerebritis-meningitis. This diagnosis has resulted in an extended stay at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, which has placed a financial strain on her family.

Haden has been a part of Monroe Cheerleading since kindergarten and loves it with her whole heart. Her mom, Kim, has volunteered a large amount of her time to the Monroe Cheerleading program and is one of the most caring and giving women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
