Amputation

I am a teacher at a Chicago public high school, and one of my dearest students emailed me to tell me that her younger sister was struck by a car on Friday afternoon while waiting at a bus stop. Her sister was trapped between the car and a light pole, and her leg was so severely injured that it needs to be amputated. The family is already dealing with other financial expenses from Covid and her mom's illness, so this accident has added great stress. I know that times are tight for many of us, but if you have a little wiggle room, please consider giving to this family. My student emailed me not to inform me of her sister's condition but to ask if she could reschedule her final exam in light of it all.
