Hacienda Tizapan in Port Townsend Permanently Closes!

With sadness we must let you know that Sandra and Marco were recently forced to permanently close their restaurant, the Hacienda Tizapan, in Port Townsend, due to financial difficulties. You may remember in the Fall Marco was in a terrible car accident, that was not his fault, and he suffered serious injuries that required the family to close the restaurant, their sole source of income, for three months. Debts piled up and the closure significantly affected their business once the restaurant was reopened. Marco’s insurance claim against the driver of the vehicle, who was cited, is proceeding very slowly with no settlement in sight for the near future. Yet debts must be paid so they can have a more solid footing as they search for a fresh start in the Port Townsend community. We once again ask for community support to allow the family, who have lived in Port Townsend for many years, to pay off their debts. They still have two children who totally depend on them. Times are very difficult already for the immigrant community, and we hope generosity can once again be shown for Marco and Sandra and their children.

Con tristeza debemos hacerles saber que Sandra y Marco se vieron obligados recientemente a cerrar permanentemente su restaurante, la Hacienda Tizapan en Port Townsend, debido a dificultades financieras. Recordaréis que en otoño Marco tuvo un terrible accidente de coche, que no fue culpa suya, y sufrió graves lesiones que obligaron a la familia a cerrar el restaurante, su única fuente de ingresos, durante tres meses. Las deudas se acumularon y el cierre afectó significativamente a su negocio una vez reabierto el restaurante. La reclamación del seguro de Marco contra el conductor del vehículo, que fue citado, avanza muy lentamente sin que se vislumbre un acuerdo en un futuro próximo. Sin embargo, las deudas deben ser pagadas para que puedan tener una base más sólida en su búsqueda de un nuevo comienzo en la comunidad de Port Townsend. Pedimos una vez más el apoyo de la comunidad para que la familia, que lleva muchos años viviendo en Port Townsend, pueda saldar sus deudas. Todavía tienen dos hijos que dependen totalmente de ellos. Los tiempos son ya muy difíciles para la comunidad inmigrante, y esperamos que la generosidad pueda mostrarse una vez más con Marco y Sandra y sus hijos.
