Three LGBTs Move to Georgia

Donation protected

UPDATE:

Our apartment has reached the point where our living conditions are no longer acceptable. We are actively risking our health by continuing to live here. The bathroom ceiling has an active, visible crop of black mold. Our air conditioning unit leaks and floods our living room with foul-smelling liquid every time we turn it on. Our refrigerator regularly floods and insects are getting inside, dying in the drainage basin and contaminating our food. The roach infestation has reached the point where I've found eggs inside of my computer equipment. We can't prepare meals on our kitchen counter because if food is left on the counter unsupervised for more than a few minutes. The landlord refuses to address these issues.

We've had horrible luck searching for apartments in New Mexico, in part because I can't travel and verify locations myself.

An incredibly kind friend reached out and is helping us look for a place to live in Georgia. The move would be far less expensive than if we moved several states away. The cost of living is significantly cheaper than staying in Florida. We also have friends and loved ones local to the area who will be able to provide me with support and the opportunity to heal.

We decided that Georgia would be a better option in the long term.

ORIGINAL MESSAGE:

My partner Eury and I are both transgender people and Florida natives. We're skilled workers who have lived here our entire lives. We're both disabled and live independently from our families.

Unfortunately, the cost of living here is far too expensive for us to have financial security. We've lived in poverty here for most of our adult lives. We both have serious medical issues that have gone untreated due to being unable to afford quality medical care. Florida is beautiful - but it's not worth the cost of our health. We want to move to a place that is much more affordable (if a little less 'exciting') with our chosen family.

Our best friend Lykios lived in New Mexico for many years. He helped me through my medical treatment for my autoimmune disorder. He's proven himself to be a kind and loyal friend. He has friends and family nearby in Texas who can provide us with the social support that we don't have in Florida. We've decided that we should make the journey back with him to New Mexico.

$5000 will cover the cost of our moving expenses (we're driving), hotel stay, gas during the trip, and replacement furniture. All of our current furniture will be donated if possible and we plan on replacing it with thrifted/found items.

If you'd like to support us in another way:

- We make 3D printed jewelry  and charms.

- I make digital art (including emotes/graphics for Twitch) and you can buy art from me. Message my Twitter for more information .

- You can watch us stream live every day on Twitch.

Thank you so much. If you can't afford to donate, sharing our post is a huge help.
