Habitat at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe

Habitat is a passion project that Petrikor Danse has been working on since 2016. A multidisciplinary solo inspired by the life cycle of hermit crabs, Habitat acts as a metaphor for Bettina's emigration from Uruguay to Canada. In 2022, Habitat finally saw its full-length world premiere and has only picked up steam since. This summer, Petrikor Danse has the incredible opportunity to present a 12-show run of Habitat at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, one of the largest arts festivals in the world.

In addition to staging hundreds of shows per year that showcase the performing arts in all their forms, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe is a hub for producers and presenters from around the globe. In its 65 years of existence, it has gained a reputation as a springboard, having launched the careers of artists like Emma Thompson and Robin Williams. Plus, Habitat will be shown at the Dance Base, one of the most prestigious dance venues at the Fringe!

Habitat may be a solo, but it certainly can't run without a team. The piece requires a technical director and a sound director to coordinate the many elements that make up Habitat. To equitably pay our collaborators, we need to raise 6000$ - we can't go without them!
