Hello and blessings,
We are asking for assistance with the financial needs of my cousin Anastasia Heidt and her family. On Wednesday (April 6th) she was taken to the emergency room because of shortness of breath, and then admitted the following morning to ICU at Sacred Heart Riverbend, in Springfield, OR. She was diagnosed with possible H1N1 influenza , pneumonia and ARDS (acute respitory distress syndrome) with 5 to 10% lung capacity. Her critical condition and low oxygen levels brought them very close to having her put under a medically induced coma, intubation, and an emergency c-section (29 weeks gestation with a little boy). The following days since then have been difficult for the entire family. She remains in ICU at present with her husband Matt assisting 24/7, who had to take a leave of absence from his job as a carpenter. Their three children, Olivia, age 7, Charlotte, age 4, and Mark, age 2, were taken to Idaho, where they are being cared for by their grandparents and family at this time. Their first son Cyprian, was taken to heaven at 8 months old, due to respiratory failure. Anastasia is improving slowly, but it will be a long journey of healing, perhaps as long as a year. And baby boy is coming soon too, who may still have to be born up to 3 weeks early, due to poor liver function of mama. Although they do have health insurance, which will cover the present hospital expenses, they are incurring many other expenses, which are not covered. Anything you could contribute toward helping with these expenses would help tremendously and be greatly appreciated. More importantly than this, they request your prayers for her recovery, a safe delivery of the new baby, and the reunification of their family.
