Olivia's Cavernous Malformation

Hello hi friends, my name is Bethany, and I appreciate you taking the time to read my family's story. We are first and foremost asking for your prayers.

My niece Olivia came down with what her parents thought was flu but progressed over the next few days. They started to notice she was very unsteady on her feet. The first diagnosis was a viral infection and dehydration, but we were told to take her straight to the ER if vomiting persisted and of course, it did. They were then told at the ER to take her to another hospital where they have a pediatrician on staff. The next morning they told us they wanted to do an MRI of her head to make sure nothing was causing her unsteadiness, and we agreed to go ahead with the study just to ease our minds. We started to get worried when the test was taking much longer than expected and knew something was wrong when the doctor came in before we got to go to recovery. The doctor let us know they found a 2cm by 3cm mass on her brain and they would be transferring her up to Portlands Children’s Hospital by helicopter. After several days and multiple MRIs and an angiogram later she has been diagnosed with a Cavernous Malformation. She will be going into an entire day-long

surgery Monday morning (8/14/23). We know our feisty girl is so brave and resilient and will be out of the hospital before long. We are trusting in the lord for smooth surgery and guidance over the doctors. If you feel it in your heart to donate while we stay in the hospital away from home we greatly appreciate it.
